1965                 Translated the English history of Hadrian’s Wall into Italian (commissioned by the Italian Tourist Board).

 

1973-1975                                   Employed by the then DHSS translating pensions and medical documents.

1975                                            Appointed official interpreter, Northumbria Police.

1976                                            Taught Italian language course for economists at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne

1977                                            continuous freelance work, often through various agencies, in the north-east, north-west, and elsewhere, for clients including:

Northumbria Police;

Newcastle-upon-Tyne County/Crown Courts;

British Oxygen;

The Babcock Group;

Angus Fluid Division (including employee tuition);

1998          BBC commission to translate and transcribe interviews filmed in Torino during exhibition of the Turin Shroud   

1994-present     Various commissions for bodies in the north-west, including:  The Greater Manchester Police Force (as official interpreter); Manchester City Council; Transglobal Languages Ltd., Cheshire; Universal Languages Agency, Manchester; The European Centre, Manchester; and Transworld Languages for Business People, Altrincham.

 

2007 January: attended a seven day course at a conference centre at HM prison near Preston. HM Prison Officers instructed us on the various skills required when interpret in prison.

In December 2008, I was invited to interpret for Faively Transport at their European Works Council Meeting.

I interpreted for Total Oil at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in Immingham, Humberside employed me for a Human Resources Conference with unions, workers, and management 5th March 2009.

28th-29th April 2009 Conference at Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in Alderley Park, Macclesfield, to interpret for the Italian Representative.

1980    I (regrettably, due to family circs) refused the post of acting vice-consul to the Italian community, Newcastle.
